Light in the darkness

If there is something clear that Jesus left us, it is that we are light, and as such we must always shine brightly in the midst of darkness, but it is true that the intensity of that light depends on how our relationship with God is. ¨Nadie que enciende una luz la cubre con una vasija, ni la pone debajo de la cama, sino que la pone en un candelero para que los que entran vean la luz.¨ Lucas 8: 16 (Reina-Valera 1960).

God did not light us to keep us hidden behind a mask, simply because we are ashamed to recognize that we are Christians and we make the fatal mistake of denying that we have Jesus in our heart, we turn off that light when we act contrary to what God tells us in his word, which mentions that no one can hide from Him and whoever pretends to do so, doing hidden things will be exited to the light, we can turn off that lit wick also when we sin, lie, when we lead a double life, doing what God does not like.

God is in charge of putting the spark that will ignite that light, but it depends on us how intense it is and above all to keep it always shining firmly, so that no wind can extinguish it. ¨ Wherefore I counsel you to stir up the fire of the gift of God which is in you by the laying on of my hands. 1 Timothy 1:6 (Reina-Valera 1960).

The truth cannot be hidden, people who really have God in their hearts make a difference in any place, showing a clarity at the end of the dark and fearful tunnel in which the people around us are, because the idea is not to illuminate to benefit only ourselves but to guide and direct people to the right path, so they can get out of that tunnel, and so they can be used and lit by God becoming light.

¨ See then how you hear; for to everyone who has, to him shall be given; and from everyone who does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away.¨ Luke 8:18(Reina-Valera 1960).

If we have that flame, that fire that burns for Jesus, we will not be satisfied with little, but the fire seeks to grow bigger and bigger and God seeing the need and longing places more of that fire in us, which will grow more and more, that is why we see many people who have great success in ministry and in their relationship with God, but those who have the flame extinguished, do not seek to provoke that spark and ignite the flame, but act in a negligent way, wanting to obtain things but doing nothing for them, because they do not seek the presence of God.

Again Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" John 8:32 (Reina-Valera 1960).

What better privilege than to be guided by the strongest, brightest and most perfect light of all, which is our Lord Jesus, let us always live by his hand, being a reflection of his love and truth, taking that light to any place in the world.
